Post-hepatitis syndrome: symptoms, treatment
Post-hepatitis syndrome (post-appetite jaundice, post-hepatitis hyperbilirubinemia) is a complex of symptoms characterized by a slight residual hyperbilirubinemia with an overestimated content of free (indirect) hyperbilirubinemia in the blood. It is found in some patients who have recovered with acute viral hepatitis without signs of other morphological and functional changes in the liver
Post-hepatitis syndrome symptoms
In some cases, patients experience rapid fatigue, minor dyspepsia, and general weakness. In most cases, the liver is of acceptable size (with palpation painless and soft), sometimes it can be slightly enlarged. After a few weeks (sometimes months), the symptoms completely disappear
Post-hepatitis syndrome treatment
Inpatient treatment patients with this syndrome do not need. It is recommended to take light cholagogue preparations (mineral water, corn stalk extract, etc.), as well as taking vitamin complexes. Conducting electrical and thermal procedures on the liver is not desirable. It is also necessary to adhere to the mandatory diet, which consists in the exclusion of alcohol, fatty and spicy dishes from the ration.
Work ability of patients is preserved, however, if possible, it is necessary to limit physical and nervous loads.
